London via Norfolk and the Lake District collective silt. have revealed their latest track, ‘frozen over fountain’. The track’s rawness is immediately evident: a single acoustic take recorded without a click forms its stark, ghostly basis, while drums and layered strings gradually build the track out into the expansive landscape of swirling, atmospheric alt-rock it eventually becomes. On the track’s meaning, they say: “Life has stopped. There's this sense of looking around at a greyscale city in deep winter and desperately clinging to anything that might shift what you're feeling. Sometimes those things make the immediate passing of time easier, but ultimately drag you further from yourself. The song has evolved for me a few times already, which is something I always hope to achieve - it feels like it can exist across different times and different versions of your life.” silt., neither a band nor solo artist in the traditional sense, will be dropping their debut EP, brain like a silent hill, on November 13th, 2026.
