Here’s something quite different for you from British/Mallorcan/global citizen TÂCHES (pronounced “tash”) and featured artist INGA (aka Sam Grendel). Together in a hot Los Angeles apartment, they teased out ‘Mi Destino’, a fantastic number which combines intricate Latin guitar melodies, unusual vocalisations consisting of hums, mumbles, breathing, nasal and throat noises, a steady trap-like beat and a woodwind instrument towards the end. You can totally understand why this track has been labelled as “jungle pop”, because as you venture deeper into the song, leafy trees of sound rise up either side of you, gradually surrounding you with a dense, naturally formulaic composition. Currently residing on the American West Coast, TÂCHES hopes to further explore and utilise that eclectic music scene in his own future creations. - HT
