London-based 3-piece Yak are well known for their heavy psych athems and racous live shows. Their latest offering is a blistering interpretation of legendary African-American vocal-group The Dixie Nightingales' 'All I Need Is Some Sunshine In My Life', produced by none other than Tame Impala, Pond and Gum member Jay Watson at Kevin Parker's home studio in Perth. Inspired by the recent passing of a close friend, the band took it upon themselves to totally re-imagine the classic track by drowning it in a swamp of their signature sludgy psychedelia. Whilst we're stilling waiting for news on album number two, 'All I Need Is Some Sunshine In My Life' serves as a more than adequate stop-gap and a heart-felt addition to their catalogue. -HLMX
