It's been a big year for Wendy Eisenberg. The experimental guitarist and songwriter broke through to an entirely new level of audience and acclaim with their self-titled album in April, and they've followed it up rapidly with a surprise release that reimagines two songs from that record in spacious, extended form.

The wonderfully-titled Wweennddyy Eeiisseennbbeerrgg comprises stretched, manipulated versions of 'Meaning Business' and 'The Walls', the second of which you can hear below. At nine minutes long, 'Tthhee Wwaallllss' is twice the length of its original, but a quarter of the length of the new release's other track, the 37-minute sprawl of 'Mmeeaanniinngg Bbuussiinneessss'. Featuring an organic, improvisational new arrangement from Eisenberg's band (which includes recent TMR interviewee More Eaze), it's a fluid, meditative piece which takes the original track into a daring new place. It's lovely, and tops off a year of well-earned success for a genuinely daring artist beautifully.
