Manchester psych-punks Wax Head have revealed their latest track, ‘GNAT’. The quartet are in and out in just ninety seconds, with a structure that, for thirty seconds, alternates between intense burts of chromatic shredding and wide, heavy breakdowns. The central part of the track explores the more psychedelic, light aspect of their sound, before returning to one final burst of chaos. The band have also revealed their debut album, also called GNAT, via Soup Grapes Records. They say it “is an amalgamation of our time spent establishing ourselves in Manchester. It shows our development as musicians while still nodding towards our roots as a garage rock band. We have been playing some of these songs since our first show back in 2021. Through the years we have developed and rewritten them to fit our current style.”
