Leeds-based quartet Vehicle have dropped their new single, ‘Miserable Vibes’. It’s a suitably moody track, with jangling guitar and a semi-spoken vocal defining its lumbering surrealism. Twangs of Americana show up in unexpectedly bluesy chords, which simultaneously evoke the nostalgic 90s indie of Pavement and a shambling, trebley early Arctic Monkeys. Frontman Michael Cable cryptically adds: “A withdrawn nostalgia addict goes cold turkey, everything floats to the surface, the conclusion is an elusive one. Archive footage floats across the words– our hero doesn’t know what era they’re from anymore, the song is about the strange guilt of living in a present that borrows too heavily from the past.” Vehicle have announced their new album, Fumes, which drops on March 19th, 2027, via Esco Romanesco Records.
