Following a steady stream of stunning collaborations this year, TYSON share's the unfiltered 'The Edge'. Set over a simmering soundscape of grounded beats and airy synth pads, TYSON spills her truth from a period of "rage and frustration", explaining: "it captured a side of me I don’t often show to the outside world. The song speaks more broadly to power dynamics in relationships, which I write about a lot, but the real story for me grew from power plays I experience too often as a woman in an industry dominated by men. It feels important that I made it with two long time male collaborators who are genuine supporters, Nosaj Thing and Coby Sey. I love the introspective lyrical wisdom and angelic vocals Coby adds." Appropriately released via her own Ladies Music Pub (a community TYSON co-founded over 10 years ago to combat misogyny in the music biz), 'The Edge' is refreshingly transparent and utterly mesmerising.
