This new track from The Body and Cel Genesis is about as brutal as the title suggests, and all the better for it. On 'To Be Eviscerated', the legendary Rhode Island experimental duo combine with Oakland, CA electro-noise group Cel Genesis to create something as equally indebted to the darkest, heaviest dubstep as it is to any of the more metal-focused influences that shade much of their work. We can pick out certain echoes – the grunt of The Bug, the shuddering weight of JK Flesh, the desperation of Neurosis – but this collaboration feels pretty distinctive even for one of the most consistently innovative groups in US heavy music.

Their album Whole Wide World is out 13 November via Thrill Jockey. It's intense, essential stuff.
