‘Pick Me Up’ is the latest track from Chicago quintet, The Back Alley. Lyrically, the song is about circumstances outside of your control keeping people apart. Musically, it’s a nostalgic, folk-edged indie track that places a deeply melodic, chanted chorus above the simple jangle of guitar chords. The band says: “We chose to announce the album with 'Pick Me Up' because it feels like a perfect transition from the past Back Alley sound of catchy guitar licks and melodies — songs like 'Brand New' and 'Neon Jeans' — to the open and mature sound we have found within the new album 'Back At Home'. 'Pick Me Up' feels like a comfortable mix of both eras of the band. The new, and the old.” The album in question is their upcoming debut, Back At Home, which drops on January 22nd, 2027.
