Telemakus is the LA-based pianist, producer and composer who sadly lost the use of his hands in 2021 and had to relearn how to write and play around it. '2054' is the sound of that adjustment paying off in an incredible way. The two-minute instrumental features Karriem Riggins on drums and Chino Corvalán on bass, with Telemakus' keys threading through in short, funky bursts rather than long runs. It's the lead single from Eight Ring Revival, due out in October. The song title may imply a futuristic sound, but the accompanying visual leans fully into a 1970s aesthetic, with Telemakus cast as an old-school airline pilot with a MIDI keyboard built right into the flight deck console. Cabin lights warm and amber, passengers settle in as Riggins' pocket, Corvalán's low end, and Telemakus' funky keys lock into a groove of their own.
