Indie trio Sunday (1994) have dropped their latest track, ‘Shame’. It’s the lead single from the extended edition of their second EP, Devotion, on which the band say: “Roll up, roll up, Devotion (Deluxe) is finally here. Three brand new songs and the final chapter in the Devotion saga. Written on the road in London, the Cotswolds in rural England and at home in California, and all recorded in our one-bedroom apartment. This is us at our most personal.” This track in particular is a dreamy, shimmering cut. It feels like childlike wonder turned into music, with a nostalgic 90s guitar twang and a melancholic melodic phrasing that wouldn’t feel out of place on a The Cure album. Sunday (1994) are now moving away from their EP era and into work on their debut album, so keep your ears peeled.
