London-via-Michigan artist Spitzer Space Telescope has shared his new sea shanty, ‘Bound For Calais-O’. Despite its simplicity and raw recording style, this is an infectious release that lodges itself firmly in the brain. Over little more than the pluck of a banjo, Spitzer Space Telescope has reignited a love for traditional folk composition. “Sea shanties have always been a well of inspiration that I come back to over and over again,” he says. “This song is another love letter to that tradition, specifically the jolly “foc’sle” variety of sea shanties. It features Mareva Lindo singing harmonies.” Spitzer Space Telescope is part of the Broadside Hacks Roster tour, which kicks off on October 22nd, 2026.
