Planted firmly in their own lane, gothically-inclined Gob Nation signing Spike ascends on 'Event Horizon'. Built around an eerie keys loop, an unexpectedly gargantuan beat kicks in after a couple of cycles. Echoing the hook in their vocal melody, Spike swoons 'I keep it to myself, await your arrival, my event horizon'. A happy hardcore remix of Kate Bush's 'Hounds of Love' wouldn't be a million miles off in terms of sound, as Spike explains: "An Event Horizon is the edge of a black hole known as “the point of no return”. I thought this is like falling deeply in love- a leap into the unknown. I made this song shortly after a night out dancing to drum and bass so was in a breakbeat state of mind." Landing just ahead of their self-titled debut LP, 'Event Horizon' is full of wonder and accomplishment.
