‘NEW WORLD’ is the latest track from West Australian five-piece South Summit. It’s an effortlessly cool track, with a slow wash of chords and groovy drums in a lilting 12/8 underpinning an effortless flow of lyrics that guitarist Fynn Samorali says are “about accepting that growth often means letting go of what feels comfortable and trusting where life takes you next.” Bandmate and bass player Josh Trindall adds: “A lot of this record came from spending years on the road and seeing life differently. 'New World' felt like the perfect way to capture that feeling — recognising how much you've changed while still staying connected to where you came from.” The track is a revived version of a stripped-back 2022 demo, which the band now believe is one of the most definitive representations of their brand-new second album.
