Norwegian singer-songwriter Sondre Lerche has revealed the full versions of his nine-minute pop odyssey, ‘Follow The River’. It’s an incredibly immersive, expansive track that, across six verses, tells the story of two lost people falling in love. Its musicality is seriously impressive, with a disco beat slowly building and growing in intensity behind his voice, while adlibs from Suzanne Sumbudu and an entire gospel choir helping it reach its full form. “This one doesn't make excuses for being completely overcome with feelings of love and desire,” says Lerche. “So naturally I thought, ‘I need a gospel choir on this,’ because it’s almost indulging, maybe, as an act of defiance, in the beauty of two humans finding each other, reveling in all the little, mundane moments of that.” His new album, Acrobats, drops on August 21st, 2026, via PLZ / Virgin.
