One of the UK's most innovative folk groups, Shovel Dance Collective, are set to release their new album Everything In Readiness in October, and they've shared a second single from the record called 'The Foxhunter's Reel'. It's a kinetic, florid piece of music, repeated string motifs rising together beautifully like flowers coming into bloom. It feels particularly live and organic even for Shovel Dance; that impression is borne out by the band's statement on the track:

"It was ultimately honed and changed constantly over our many live performances, with Ollie’s Flynt-esque fiddle always at the forefront. This became a theme for this record: arrangements constantly tinkered with on the road, new experiments with instrumentation, distortion and extended techniques, taking risks on stage."
