Posted on the infamous world___music__ Instagram page, 'Holy War' is the simmering new offering from bar italia guitarist/vocalist Sam Fenton. Strung, unhurriedly, over 4 and a half minutes, ominous chords glisten forebodingly as Fenton plays around with vocal effects. Like a spooky demo for a spaghetti Western (interrupted by loops of passing ambulances), the lyrics kick in around a minute and a half later. Bolstered by spindly lead guitar hooks, 'holy war' catches a mood more than anything else. Feeling like a fly on the wall in Fenton's writing space it's an intimate release that oozes laidback mystery. Out now on Youtube with a video by Zanne Chaudry, we'll be keeping an eye out for more.
