Accurately described by the band as a "dystopian Beach Boys" track, 'Punish My Mind' is the second single from @'s forthcoming album Autosmile. Moving through chord progressions that yank on the heartstrings, layered vocals add a sense of sixties nostalgia to what's ultimately a pioneering new take on classic songwriting. Embracing off-kilter production techniques, including the unexpected integration of animal noises, there's a veil of psychedelia cast over the predominantly acoustic soundscape. The band continue: “‘Punish My Mind’ is a chill song about self-torture that’s maybe the oldest recording on the album. It has a fat wind arrangement and a lot of vocal harmonies. We hope you like it.” Autosmile will be released by 4AD on the 16th of October.
