‘I Don’t Play It Cool, I Play It Steaming’ is the new single and video from Phoebe Green and Picture Parlour’s Katherine Parlour. It’s a big, bold alt-pop duet that places the pair’s dual vocals above a shifty electronic accompaniment that evokes a blend of Jockstrap and trip-hop. It starts restrained and industrial, but soon explodes into something dense, intense, and noisy. This track is taken from Phoebe Green’s new album, written and produced alongside her sister Elucyve, PREMATURE NOSTALGIA, which is out now. She says it “explores the feeling of missing a moment before it’s over, grieving the present in real time and trying to retain every detail of an encounter so that the memory is always intact and in full colour.”
