Glasgow collective Peter Cat are tapping into a rich tradition of eccentric indie-pop from their home city on new single 'Innocent Driver'. The likes of Carla J Easton, Franz Ferdinand and Belle & Sebastian loom over the track's propulsive three-minute runtime, supplemented by Jarvis Cocker-like spoken asides from frontman Graham Gillespie. It's a sleek, self-contained track, packed tight with melody.

"We fall into relationships with other people, then we fall out of them, sometimes painfully, and after the fact, we can become very sure of ourselves absolutely adamant that the other person is to blame for whatever pain we might be feeling," says Gillespie. "We’re innocent – it was them who cut us off, guv, and we’ve got the dashcam footage to prove it. But how much of that is your own brain working overtime to protect you?"
