Galway-born singer-songwriter Oisin Mod has returned with his new single, ‘Canary’. It’s a shifty, tense track that places Mod’s hushed vocal above a shimmering accompaniment. Its minimalism works perfectly with his vocal style, allowing his melodies to guide the track while the occasional rumble of guitar and drone of organ are glimpsed right when they need to be. “Jagged thought processes were a big part of where these songs came from,” Mod says of the creative process. “Being disillusioned and feeling like a cynic and maybe becoming not so easy to be around yourself. That’s the sort of world that a lot of it came from.” ‘Canary’ is lifted from Oisin Mod’s much-anticipated album of the same name, which is due for release on November 6th, 2026.
