‘Dark Clouds’ is the latest track from Bath-based five-piece Night Swimming. It’s an airy, outward-looking track that takes the band’s eerie, dreamy trip-hop influences and places them up against their hazy shoegaze. Swirling synth motifs and glitchy drums craft the atmosphere over which Meg Jones’ emotive voice lives, taking us toward its cinematic, thoughtful conclusion, which doubles as the end of their long-awaited new EP, Melting, Sometimes Bleeding, which is out now. Meg Jones describes it as “a collection of songs exploring themes of identity, depersonalisation, stilted connection and loss.”
