New York band MX LONELY have unleashed their new track, ‘Ex Rae Punk’. They say the track is “about loving someone so hard you end up looking around for the pieces of someone for the rest of your life. It’s a reimagining of the first song I ever wrote in 2019 with Jake when we used to be called ‘v0idb0ys’. I briefly dated someone who would constantly refer to me as their “ex rae” (x-ray) after we stopped seeing each other. I realized quickly that they never really saw me at all.” Musically, it’s a grungy, pummeling track that slowly brings together the deep chug of bass and doomy guitar riffs beneath a deceptive vocal. By the end, layers of distortion and dissonance have collided to form a warped mesh of murky sound. The band will be releasing a new EP, Perfect House, on October 2nd, 2026, via Julia’s War Recordings.
