‘Magic’ is the latest track from Marsy, a newly signed Heavenly Records band made up of ex-Pixx members. It’s a moving, journeyed track that drifts from the subtle acoustic folk of its finger-picked, campfire opening into a full-band singalong ready to soundtrack the brightness of a warm summer evening. Songwriter Hannah Rodgers says she always wrote “on my own in my room, just me and a guitar. I write from a place that’s hard to explain. It almost feels like a takeover, out-of-body. I had this backlog of songs that I didn’t really know what to do with. I’d always wanted to be in a band but I didn’t really know how to make it happen.” Her band have, alongside the release of this single, dropped their debut EP of the same name. It is out now, via Heavenly Records.
