Shrouded in mystery with a bold, uncompromising vision, we asked rising East Anglian duo The Healing Power of Horses to curate a playlist on a theme of their choosing. Expectedly surreal and (at times) a little frightening, the pair soundtrack a vivid dream below.

Tracy - Mary_Anne

U are here - girl in sticky indoors, all halting and lonely, outlining eyes in sharpie and feeling a bit void. you sleep. 

Disco Inferno - Can't See Through It

here it is - the first dream you've ever had - and it smells like razor scooter handlebar foam. you leave a party with weak drinks.

Broken Social Scene - Guilty Cubicles

sun is setting, someone gives u a duffel bag of all your possessions, but the bag has no strap. u carry it awkwardly; there is no rain.

Kevin Drumm - Dimming the Gas Lights

someone has talked u into working in a ghost kitchen, chopping onions to order. there is a lot of steel and heat but the bag is gone and the party is over.

e.m.arson - the yellow wallpaper

it has been years of backbreaking work. u have an entirely flat star score. u break, steal an electric bike. u eat the night air with yr mouth.

Cheval de Frise - Fresques sur les parois secrètes du crâne

the getaway is easy, but - u graze a small animal on the road. u look into its brown eyes and notice the spots on its fur. u take it to a forest clearing.

Roberto Musci - Claudia, Wilhelm R and Me

after long exposure to pine needles and sunlight, the animal heals. you look at each other one last time and a moment of understanding passes between u before it scampers into the woods.

 shinyhunt - every heartbreak

it has been months, but heartbroken u must shuffle back to the road, where there is a lone payphone. it rings and full of wonder u lift the receiver to yr ear.

mu tate - world has ended for me many times and still began again the morning

u come to, there is no fortune, there are no gains, it is literally all a dream. once again, a girl in sticky space time. and so it goes.

The Healing Power of Horses' debut EP Summer Indoors (or outside wearing black) will be released on the 17th of July via section1, with a performance at Pitchfork Paris planned for November.
