Having entranced us over the summer with their timeless songwriting and endearing live performances, London-based Marsy have announced their new EP Miss Wave.

Set for arrival via Heavenly Recordings on the 20th of November, its arresting title track is out now and is this inspiration for this playlist. Giving attention to individual lyrics, their selections zoom in on the emotions at play on the single and sit with them.

Songwriter Hannah Rodgers explains: "Miss Wave was written at a time when I was really struggling to deal with massive feelings that were essentially drowning me. It was like a mantra back when I was finding it harder to manage life and needed a reminder not to give in and act out on impulse. I think that night I wrote it, a few glasses of wine in, somewhere in my subconscious ‘It Be’s That Way Sometimes’ by Nina Simone was probably playing in my head."

Dipping their toes into soft punk nostalgia, playful indie-rock and 60s romanticism, 'Miss Wave' is Marsy at their eclectic best.
