After a long absence, Danish-Zambian alt-pop artist Kwamie Liv has returned with her new single, ‘No One Owns The Sunrise’. It’s well worth the wait: an anthem hidden behind its deceptively simple acoustic presentation. Liv’s voice is smoky and intriguing, building with the slowly spiralling accompaniment she crafts out of heavy reverb and subtle synths. “I wanted to create a musical landscape that sounded like spinning around weightlessly," she explains. "The song is about the sunrise that lives inside all of us.
