The new single from London-based songwriter Kamran Khan is ‘Daddy, Just Like You’. It’s a punchy indie track underpinned by insistent, driving bass lines and keyboard chords and topped by juxtaposingly innocent, simple vocal melodies. His guitar playing is restrained but recognisable, adding textures that range from a hazy nostalgia to the subtle unease of distortion. “I realised that I was approaching this music from a place of profound conviction,” he says of his upcoming full-length. “With this album, I felt I could draw a line and put my own name to it for the first time.” The debut album, I Came From Nowhere & Nowhere Is Where I Am Going, is set for a September 25th release via AWAL.
