Simultaneously familiar and completely brand new, 'Cup' is the energising new single from Transgressive signings Jawdropped. Exuding guitary-goodness a la Dinosaur Junior or even Slowdive at points, 'Cup' straddles lo-fi alt rock, blissed-out shoegaze and gut-wrenching emo. Set to appear on their debut album Secret to Spare, the band explain: "The idea for ‘Cup’ actually came from an older song of ours called ‘Star.’ We wanted to write about this same character who moves to LA with stars in their eyes, only to see themselves burnout. It's about getting swept up in the ‘idea’ of a place, rather than the reality. Realising you're the last one at the party." Secret to Spare will land on the 18th of September ahead of key shows at both Pitchfork Festival London and Paris.
