Drum Tower are an experimental rock band from London who have just released their debut single, ‘Junkyard’. The band’s sound is introduced through a complex drum groove, a shifty, chromatic guitar line, a wash of distant sound, and an almost conversational dual lead vocal. It’s a creeping, dystopian track that ends up surprisingly catchy, considering the math rock, post-punk and psychedelic influences that sit behind it. The band say the track is “a ballad that unfolds as a dual narrative dealing with the harsh leftovers of romantic discardment. Moving from the initial sting of aimless, exhausted wandering to finding a surreal comfort in the city’s dump.” Catch the band live around London this September and October.
