Arriving a month ahead of her new album, Dis Fig dives into dark experimentalism on 'The Snake You Built'. Unravelling slowly, the track features drums from Lee Buford of The Body, strings from Diana Miron and bass from Liam Andrews of Big Brave and My Disco. Hitting like a truck 3/4 of the way through, the effect is similar to that of morbid curiosity Feeling uncomfortable and being completely unable to look away, there's mesmerism in its rawness and depravity. Dis Fig explains: “For most of this record, I was quite intentional with lyrics. But this one beamed out differently. Rather than writing lyrics to replace the original take, I used my own kind of language, dictated by emotion rather than fitting meaning to what could not be expressed in linguistic form.” What To Make Of These Mortal Hands will be released on the 23rd of October via Thrill Jockey
