‘Stain’ is the debut release from Macclesfield’s Dead Wells. From its opening moments, the track feels locked in. It doesn’t waste time in showing off their heavy, grating blend of post-rock and shoegaze, with jagged guitars cutting against wide, powerful drums. For all its bluntness and density, there is a note of The Murder Capital-esque minimalism in the way they compose.
