Here's the least scary Halloween song you're likely to hear this week, courtesy of Current Joys. As with so much of Nick Rattigan's work under that name, this is a lilting, melancholic piece of folk-rock, its spiralling piano and floating guitar arrangement a sympathetic foundation for Rattigan's vulnerable vocal lines. It's a gently moving piece of music which might nod towards the spooky time of year with some gothy lyrics and hammy organ sounds, but whose overall effect is more yearning than creepy.

'Halloween' is taken from the new Current Joys album Rosebud; it's out next week via They Are Evil.
