French artist bothsxds has revealed his new slice of alt-pop in the form of ‘ayla’. It’s an uplifting track with more than a hint of luxurious R&B making its way into the experimental, deeply layered textures that flow throughout. bothsxds’ acrobatic voice jumps between powerful outbursts, layered falsetto harmonies, and a melodic flow. On the track’s backstory, bothsxds says: “I started dating this girl who had very openly racist parents. I had heard about it from people around us but I just chose to ignore it. Turns out the mum actually HATED MY GUTS and the situation was proper traumatic. This song is a reminder that those moments don’t define you, they don’t have to shape the way you see the world and especially not how you end up judging people.” Go back and listen to bothsxds' debut EP, wholehearted, which dropped in June 2026.
