Irish quartet Bleech 9:3 have unleashed the video for ‘No Surprise’, one of the standout tracks from their self-titled debut EP. True to form, the track is defined by crushing, grungy guitars that form a wall of metallic, distorted sound beneath Baz Quinlan’s soaring voice, which is capable of finding hooks even above the most dissonant of accompaniments. The video that accompanies the track is suitably dramatic, with a pink hue juxtaposing the intense instrumentals. On the band’s formation and his connection with vocalist Quinlan, whom he met in rehab, guitarist Sam Duffy says: “I think to find someone your own age, with the same dreams as you, from the same city and is also suffering from the same thing… we knew immediately that we could help each other. You can lose your mind thinking about how rare that is.” The band’s self-titled debut EP is out now via Polydor.
