The sheer scale of 'Isle Peaks' by Bitchin Bajas is impressive in itself. Over the course of ten minutes, it unfurls a densely-textured landscape of windswept sine waves, delicate chimes, hints of flora and fauna, lapping waves intermingling with lush guitar chords in a way that's far more coherent and less woo-woo than this description might make it sound. It all feels interdependent and ecosystemic, each instrument influencing the path of another as the arrangement gradually expands. 

It's the title track from a new EP by the Chicago experimental trio, following up 2025's acclaimed Inland Sea album. They hit the UK in autumn after a lengthy run of US tour dates; Isle Peaks is out on 28 August via Drag City.
