Irish folk-rock duo Basciville have released the video for their new single, ‘Love In The Time Of The State’. The track tours through a variety of soft, ambient states. It opens with a tender piano instrumental, before clean electric guitars lean into a looping, minimalist pattern. For the beautiful chorus, acoustic guitars take over to provide an emotional core to the track, and eventually underpin its expansive, cathartic conclusion. Love In The Time Of The State is also the name of the duo’s new album, which is out now. They describe it as “an album about modern living. Being sick in the heart at the state of things yet resolutely hopeful, focusing on the people still loving, kicking and screaming on this island.
