‘The Dream’ is the latest release from Kat Frankie’s eight-piece a cappella group, B O D I E S. “I wanted to write something that we could sing mostly in unison with a body percussion rhythm that would be fun to perform,” explains Kat. “I ended up with a kind of incantation conjuring the Oracle of Delphi - a woman who held great influence in Ancient Greece. When we sing it I feel like we’re summoning a greater power, and in a way we are: it’s absolutely joyous combining voices with seven other women into something bigger than ourselves.” The result is a beautiful, building, deeply woven tapestry of voices that captures the raw emotion and feeling in every word they sing and every beat they tap out.
