This is a short, sharp blast of expertly-crafted fuzz-pop from Asher White. The Providence, Rhode Island artist is remarkably prolific and inventive, her career so far a constant stream of stylistic left-turns, self-exploratory experiments and shifting perspectives. On 'Stage Diva', she embraces the relative stability of noise-fringed indie-pop: "Musically I was thinking: 'I would like to be in Alvvays.'"

The result is lean and sprightly, but dense with melody. It's the latest single from White's new album, Love Aggregates, out 28 August on Joyful Noise. “It’s a reminder that new love happens, and it does not replace nor censor the old love, it just aggregates and aggregates,” she says of the album. “And now you have this record that has snapshots from various stages of various loves, from totally abysmal open wounds to adolescent horniness and whatever else. The songs are aggregates of all of it.”
