Part poetry, part Ibiza sizzler, Antony Szmierek enlists Imogen and the Knife on 'Flight Simulator'. Conceptually solid and meticulously considered, Szmierek explains: “the twisting monologue of someone considering landing a falling airplane on luck alone. lost loves, video games and messages from the birds. it’s about putting your faith in the unknown, and pure belief before logic and reason." Over the course of 5 minutes, the arrangement reveals layer upon layer of euphoric instrumentation, whilst a network of serene backing vocals mimic the increase of momentum as gravity takes hold. If 'Flight Simulator' isn't flying, it's definitely falling with style.
