From her EP Comes To Light, 'Closure' is Amaria BB doing what she does best - late-night R&B that feels lived-in and unguarded. The premise is simple and achingly familiar: the pull toward someone when you know you shouldn't, dressed up in smooth, nostalgic production that carries a Velvet Rope-era Janet Jackson warmth (an artist Amaria herself cites as a key inspiration for the project). Where the track really lands is in the vocal interplay between Amaria and Leigh-Anne - their voices weave around each other with an ease that feels less like a feature and more like a conversation, harmonising and overlapping in all the right places. The writing is sharp without being overwrought, letting the emotion do the heavy lifting. Comes To Light is shaping up to be one of the stronger R&B projects out of the UK this year.
