Landing in the Spring, the spellbinding third album (and first for Warp Records) from Scottish-born, Copenhagen-based composer and songwriter Clarissa Connelly was easily one of our favourites. Sonically ambitious and lyrically intriguing, World of Work arrived off the back of 3 arresting singles, 'Wee Rosebud', 'An Embroidery' and 'Life of The Forbidden' respectively. Evoking elements of Cocteau Twins, Jenny Hval and Kate Bush, with a crucially distinctive Celtic flair, Connelly's ethereal yet uncanny approach yields truly spectacular results. Making her mark this year with a series of lauded live shows in London and further afield, Clarissa Connelly shows no signs of slowly down with the arrival of the impish 'Give It Back' just 2 months ago.
