‘Pillow Scream’ is the new single from British singer-songwriter Will Knox. The track, which has notes of Elliot Smith and Passenger running through it, sees the artist return to his acoustic folk roots. His voice is isolated and beautiful as it sits above nothing aside from his tenderly played acoustic guitar. He has intentionally released the song to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Week. Mental health is a consistent theme in his lyrics. “I wrote Pillow Scream out of frustration. I was upset at myself for not being able to say what I wanted to someone because I feared their reaction. In fact, I ended up saying the opposite just to make them happy… I've worked hard to break this habit, to be more honest, even if I risk upsetting or offending people along the way. I've found that the worst-case scenario I make up in my head rarely ever occurs.” The track follows on from his EP, Growing Pains, and serves as a teaser for his upcoming full-length, English Silence, which drops on September 27th, 2024. -Dan Peeke
