Powerhouse label/publisher/promoter future classic has been a pillar of the Australian electronic scene for as long as we can remember, having worked with everyone from Flume to Chet Faker to Jagwar Ma over the years. Having already leant her charmingly well-measured tones to online smashes from Ta-ku (also on future classic) and Japanese Wallpaper, emerging singer Wafia is stepping up to the plate and dropping a record of her own on the revered hitmaker. Her debut EP, XXIX is out next month and the Ta-ku-produced 'Heartburn' is the first cut she's showcasing from it. A doomed R&B love ballad, 'Heartburn' gives us Wafia at her impassioned best, decrying the partner who spurned her over gliding downtempo beats and haunting electronic swells.
