Based between Bristol and London, Urkt are an exciting new electronic duo consisting of vocalist Harry Urquhart and producer Alfie Tyson-Brown. Lifting the lid on their new single 'Muted', we were taken with its ambition. Positioned on top of an intricate bed of electronics, that drip with industrial characteristics, Urquhart's otherworldly vocals are all-consuming. Dominating the ambient soundscape as they soar, unrestrained, in dramatic layers, similarities can be drawn at points with Icelandic experimentalists Sigur Rós. Bringing in a more stable beat just after the halfway point, 'Muted' radiates a sense of elation, reaching higher with each bar that passes.
