Fresh from the release of their debut album, Uhlmann Johnson Wilkes, Gregory Uhlmann, Josh Johnson and Sam Wilkes have revealed a live version of ‘Arpy’. Their sound is a jazz-laced take on electro-acoustic chamber music, with guitar, bass and effects-soaked saxophone intertwining to form a luscious, complex soundscape. This track in particular is a serene composition that takes influences from minimalism and ambient music. The guitar and bass are interlocked in a cyclical accompanying pattern, while the wobbly saxophone guides us through a selection of slow, simple melodies.
