‘logline’ is taken from the boundary-pushing new album from TRAINING + Ruth Goller. The trio have combined their influences into a whirlwind of free jazz and post-rock, with TRAINING providing a basis of frantic drumming matched by equally manic sax playing, while Goller slots her distinctively thick bass tone into the mix, with a tone that is as thunderous as it is atmospheric. The album that has emerged from this collaboration is a true piece of experimentalism. threads to knot was composed based on a French parlour game called cadavre exquis, in which each player adds their own section to a drawing in sequence, while only being allowed to see the end of what the previous player contributed. TRAINING elaborate: “Working on this music (with our Cadavre Exquis - concept) felt a bit like being in a teenage band again, but with the twist that all the compositions are connected.
