Taken from their upcoming album Other People’s Lives, ‘Lose It’ is the latest single from London-based dance band Stats. Musically, the tune jumps between a psychedelic 60s feel with a modern, Syd Barrett-esque voice ringing out over jangly guitars, and an electronic accompaniment full of looping synths. Front man Ed Seed says of the track’s lyrics, "do you fear loss or crave it? Do you pony up for another gig in the cloud or do you just want it gone (and how would you be sure it was)? Can you even remember what’s in that self-storage unit?". The funky, uplifting tune has had support from everything from 6Music to The Guardian, and their refreshing sound deserves it. -Dan Peeke
