Alt-pop newcomer Starling has returned with another fantastic track in the form of ‘Cool Girl’. It’s a slice of anthemic, powerful pop, filled with earworm melodies and a don’t give a fuck attitude. Lyrically, she has designed the track to be a story of personal growth, moving from bending the truth about her feelings in order to be seen as cool, into relishing the feeling of change: “Feelings are there to be felt,” she says simply.
