SPELLLING BOYS AT SCHOOL

Sitting at a sizeable 7 minutes and 26 seconds, Sacred Bones signing SPELLING has shared an evocative new piece in 'Boys at School'. The ambitious new track is a satisfyingly spooky exploration of teenage struggles seen through the lens of an adult. Described by the artist as an attempt to "step back into my younger self, my teenage self to voice my angst, desires and disillusionments", emotional piano parts give way to detuned synthesizers, dramatic live drums and even some 70s-rock-inspired electric guitar lines. In truth, 'Boys at School' wouldn't sound out of place on a Kate Bush record in the early 80s, and you can't say fairer than that. SPELLING's new album The Turning Wheel will be released on the 25th of June. -Holly Mullineaux
